Why?

I'm curious about the aggressive nature of certain motorists. It's true that the car alienates you, I know this because at this stage I hate to drive. I hate traffic that I can't role past and the inconsistency of movement found in city driving which isn't found on a bike. Awareness is what is missing I think. Does it piss off motorists that I am obviously experiencing more freedom? I kind of doubt it, as that would entail awareness. Why would a driver in a line of traffic see me approaching in the rearview and slowly inch into the bike lane to cut me off? I guess the answer would be similar to the one that explains the pleasure I feel when I glance at the look on their face when I whip around to the left and pass them anyway. It's the pleasure of besting someone else. But again, where is the awareness. I suppose I'm aware of the ego involved, I definitely have one. Why can't the driver just see the ease of which the bike avoids traffic and make the leap to trying it him or herself? Let's keep it cool and unaggressive and promote biking, it will take care of oil dependency, obesity, and in my opinion depression. Ride on!
